Asian Brands in the Latin American Medical Equipment Segment: the New Threat?

Frost & Sullivan will host a live briefing on Tuesday, August 12, at 3:00pm EDT to provide industry participants an overview of a recently published study focused on Asian brands in Latin America medical equipment markets.
The increasing participation of Asian brands in the Latin American medical equipment segment should not be underestimated. As Asian industry participants is a heterogeneous group, this presentations focuses in its differences: Japanese, Chinese and Korean can be distinguished in terms of penetration strategies, portfolio offering and product development. Moreover, the Latin American market has three regions in which end user brand perception and purchasing factors are dissimilar.
This briefing is based upon ongoing Healthcare analysis and it will benefit Asian manufacturers as well as their competition (local and global) by discussing the current Latin American medical equipment market and providing emerging trends.
"Asian industry participants are evolving in terms of end user's brand perception. This is mostly because of their efforts in matching client needs with new technologies. Pricing is still a differentiating factor when comparing Asian brands to global manufacturers. However, global brands are strong due to reputation and the continuous release of enhanced devices," says Maria Belen Gallo, Research Associate for Frost & Sullivan's Healthcare Group.
